Each capsule provides 350mg of berberine hydrochloride, also written berberine HCl, from a non-GMO Berberis aristata root extract standardised to 97% berberine hydrochloride, a 30:1 concentrate. Berberine is an isoquinoline alkaloid. Alongside it, each capsule supplies 12 micrograms of chromium as chromium picolinate and 3mg of zinc as zinc oxide, both at 30% of the Nutrient Reference Value. Chromium contributes to the maintenance of normal blood glucose concentrations and to normal macronutrient metabolism. Zinc contributes to normal carbohydrate metabolism and to the normal function of the immune system.
The capsule shell is hydroxypropyl methylcellulose rather than gelatin, so the product is suitable for vegans, with no declared allergens, and it is made in the European Union.
