Why Shouldn't You Drink Electrolytes Every Day? With Most of Them, You Shouldn't.

It's the most-asked question about electrolytes in the UK, and the honest answer is that most sachets are dosed for the hardest day of your year: 500mg of sodium, 1,000mg, more. Have one of those every day and you're adding a lot of salt to a diet that already has plenty.

Daily is dosed differently. 300mg of sodium, about an eighth of the daily salt maximum, alongside potassium, magnesium and calcium, in a small glass. You can have one every day and not think about it. That isn't a compromise. That's the design.

Everyone asks whether they're allowed electrolytes every day. We made the one where the answer is yes.

Who Daily Is For.

People who like an electrolyte drink and want one every day without wondering whether they should. The commuter with a bottle on the desk. The parent on the school run. The walker, the swimmer, the person whose gym session is a gym session, not an event. Anyone who wants water to be worth finishing, with something in it that counts.

Magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance.

If that's you most days, this is your sachet. For the days it isn't, Intense.

300mg of Sodium. Here's Why That Number.

300mg of sodium is about 0.75g of salt, an eighth of the adult daily maximum. It's enough to make this an electrolyte drink and small enough to fit alongside a normal diet every single day, which is the entire point of a product called Daily. Magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance.

Sodium from sodium chloride. Magnesium from citrate and oxide. Potassium from citrate, phosphate and chloride. Calcium from hydrogen phosphate and from the ascorbate that also carries the vitamin C. We list them because we'd rather you knew what's in the sachet than took our word for it.

If your days are the kind that leave you wrung out, Daily isn't the sachet for those. Intense is.

Drink Your Vitamins.

Most people who take vitamins take them as capsules, and most people who don't drink enough water know it. Daily puts both in one glass: B12 at 2,520% NRV, vitamin C, zinc, iron and magnesium, each at a level that means something, in orange and passionfruit water you'll actually finish. Vitamin B12 contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism. Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system.

The water was always the point. Now there's a reason to finish it.

Energy-Yielding Metabolism. Immune Function. Less Tiredness.

Here's what the vitamins and minerals in every sachet do.

  • Vitamin B12, vitamin B6 and pantothenic acid contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism
  • Vitamin C and zinc contribute to the normal function of the immune system
  • Magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance and normal muscle function
  • Magnesium, vitamin C, vitamin B12 and iron contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue
  • Vitamin C increases iron absorption

Nothing on that list is a promise. It's what the nutrients are for.

Iron. Not Something You Expect in an Electrolyte.

Every sachet carries 2.1mg of iron as ferrous gluconate, with 60mg of vitamin C beside it. Vitamin C increases iron absorption, and iron contributes to normal oxygen transport in the body and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Iron is unusual in an electrolyte sachet. We put it in because an everyday drink is a sensible place for it, and because pairing it with vitamin C is the right way to do it.

Everything Inside Every Sachet.

  • Sodium 300mg from sodium chloride
  • Potassium 200mg from potassium citrate, potassium phosphate and potassium chloride
  • Magnesium 62.5mg (17% NRV) from magnesium citrate and magnesium oxide
  • Calcium 125mg (16% NRV) from calcium hydrogen phosphate and calcium ascorbate
  • Vitamin C 60mg (75% NRV) as calcium ascorbate
  • Vitamin B12 63µg (2,520% NRV) as methylcobalamin
  • Vitamin B6 0.7mg (50% NRV), pantothenic acid 3mg (50% NRV)
  • Iron 2.1mg (15% NRV) as ferrous gluconate
  • Zinc 2.5mg (25% NRV) as zinc citrate
  • Inulin 1,500mg from chicory root
  • Natural orange and passionfruit flavour, coloured with paprika, carrot and turmeric, sweetened with sucralose
  • Sugar-free. No artificial colours.
  • 20 sachets of 5g. Made in the EU.

What's on the sachet is what's in the sachet.

Five Grams. None of It Sugar.

A small sachet, a small glass, and no sugar anywhere in it. Sweetened with sucralose. Coloured with paprika, carrot and turmeric. Flavoured with natural orange and passionfruit. Stirred into 200ml of cold water, it's gone in a minute, which is rather the idea.

One Sachet. 200ml. Once a Day.

Stir one sachet into 200ml of cold water. Drink it soon after mixing, or keep it in the fridge and finish it within six hours. Use a clean, dry spoon.

One a day, every day if you like. That's what it's for.

Twenty sachets to a box. Buy more boxes and the price per sachet comes down. Choose Subscribe & Save for our best value, with 15% off every order and the flexibility to pause, skip or cancel at any time.

Two Sachets. Two Kinds of Day.

ElectroMight Daily is a 5g sachet in 200ml: 300mg sodium, 200mg potassium, 62.5mg magnesium, with inulin. Orange and passionfruit. The one you can have every day.

ElectroMight Intense is a 15g sachet in 500ml: 1,957mg sodium, 492mg potassium, 205mg magnesium, no inulin. Crisp apple. For when you actually need one.

Neither is the better one. They're for different days.

The One You Can Have Every Day.

Q&A

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

With ElectroMight Daily, yes. It's dosed for it: 300mg of sodium per sachet, about an eighth of the adult daily salt maximum, with potassium, magnesium and calcium, and the label says one sachet a day. Most electrolyte sachets carry two to six times that sodium and are meant for hard days, which is where the worry about daily use comes from.

If you take medication or are under medical supervision, check with your GP or pharmacist first, as with any food supplement.

Because most of them aren't made for it. A typical electrolyte sachet is dosed for the hardest day of your year, with 500mg to 1,000mg of sodium or more, and taking that every day adds a lot of salt to a diet that already has plenty. That's the honest reason behind the most-asked question about electrolytes in the UK.

ElectroMight Daily is the exception by design: 300mg of sodium, an everyday amount. For the hard days we make ElectroMight Intense, and we'd never suggest having that one daily.

Water, mostly. On an ordinary day, with a normal diet, your electrolytes look after themselves, and we're not going to tell you otherwise.

ElectroMight Daily is for people who like an electrolyte drink and want one every day without wondering whether they should. It's 200ml of water with 300mg of sodium, some potassium, magnesium and calcium, and a proper set of vitamins in it. Have one, then drink water the rest of the day.

You can, and it will give you sodium. It will also taste like salt in water, and it won't give you potassium, magnesium, calcium or any of the vitamins.

ElectroMight Daily is 300mg of sodium with 200mg of potassium, 62.5mg of magnesium and 125mg of calcium, plus B12, vitamin C, zinc and iron, flavoured with orange and passionfruit. Whether that's worth paying for over a pinch of salt is your call; we'd rather you made it with the facts.

Potatoes, bananas, beans, leafy greens, dairy, nuts and seeds, and the salt already in most food. Most people eating a normal diet get all the electrolytes they need without a sachet, and the sports scientists who say so are right.

We make ElectroMight Daily for people who like one anyway: as a reason to finish a glass of water, and for the vitamins that come with it. We don't tell you that you need it.

Electrolytes are minerals that carry an electrical charge when dissolved in water. The main ones are sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium, and ElectroMight Daily contains all four.

For what they do, we stick to the authorised wording: magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance, to normal muscle function and to normal functioning of the nervous system; calcium contributes to normal muscle function. Potassium in Daily is below the level at which a claim can be made, so we don't make one.

The full ingredient list is: Inulin (from Chicory Root), Acid: Citric Acid; Sodium Chloride, Flavourings (Natural Orange, Natural Passion Fruit), Calcium Hydrogen Phosphate, Colour (Natural Paprika Concentrate, Natural Carrot Concentrate, Natural Turmeric Concentrate), Potassium Citrate, Potassium Hydrogen Phosphate, Magnesium Citrate, Potassium Chloride, Magnesium Oxide, Calcium Ascorbate, Sweetener: Sucralose (E955); Ferrous Gluconate, Zinc Citrate, Calcium Pantothenate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Methylcobalamin.

Per 5g sachet: sodium 300mg, potassium 200mg (10% NRV), magnesium 62.5mg (17% NRV) and calcium 125mg (16% NRV). Alongside those: vitamin C 60mg (75%), vitamin B12 63µg (2,520%), vitamin B6 0.7mg (50%), pantothenic acid 3mg (50%), iron 2.1mg (15%), zinc 2.5mg (25%) and inulin 1,500mg.

All of it is printed in the table on the box.

Yes. ElectroMight Daily carries the four main electrolytes, and 300mg of sodium is a deliberate choice: about 0.75g of salt, an eighth of the adult daily maximum, so it fits alongside a normal diet every day. That's what makes it Daily.

If you want a lot more sodium for a hard day, that's ElectroMight Intense at 1,957mg, and it's not for every day.

Because they're for different days. Daily is 300mg sodium, 200mg potassium and 62.5mg magnesium in 200ml, made to be taken every day. Intense is 1,957mg sodium, 492mg potassium and 205mg magnesium in 500ml, made for the long run, the hot shift, the hard session.

Neither is the better one. The everyday one has to be light enough to be every day.

Each is present at or above 15% of the daily reference intake, so we can tell you what it does, in the authorised wording.

Vitamin B12, vitamin B6 and pantothenic acid contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism. Vitamin C and zinc contribute to the normal function of the immune system. Magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance and normal muscle function. Magnesium, vitamin C, vitamin B12 and iron contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Vitamin C increases iron absorption. Iron contributes to normal oxygen transport in the body.

That's the list.

It's not a multivitamin, so we won't call it one. It carries eight vitamins and minerals at levels that mean something: B12 at 2,520% NRV, vitamin C 75%, B6 and pantothenic acid 50%, zinc 25%, magnesium 17%, calcium 16%, iron 15%. It doesn't carry vitamin D, vitamin A, folate or several others a multivitamin would.

If you already take a multivitamin, be aware you'd be doubling up on those eight, iron and zinc included.

Inulin is a soluble fibre from chicory root, and each sachet carries 1,500mg of it. That's a modest amount, and we won't pretend otherwise. It's there because a drink you have every day is a reasonable place to put some fibre, and it doesn't change the taste.

We make no claim about what it does at this amount.

No sugar. It's sweetened with sucralose, which the box declares as "with sweetener". The flavour is natural orange and passionfruit, and the colour comes from paprika, carrot and turmeric concentrates rather than artificial colours.

Nothing on the ingredient list comes from an animal: the minerals are mineral salts, the flavours and colours are from fruit and plants, the B12 is methylcobalamin, the sweetener is sucralose. We don't carry a vegan certification on the box, so we don't put the word on it. The full list is above if you want to check it yourself.

For most people, cost, and the salt. If your diet already has plenty of sodium, adding a lot more from sachets isn't a good idea, which is exactly why ElectroMight Daily carries only 300mg. It contains sucralose, which some people prefer to avoid. And it contains iron and zinc, so if you take another supplement with those, check the total.

If you take medication, are under medical supervision or have a kidney condition, speak to your GP before adding any electrolyte product.

Speak to your GP or pharmacist before taking ElectroMight Daily if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking prescription medication, under medical supervision, have a kidney condition, or take medication that affects your potassium or iron levels. People with iron overload should not take products containing iron.

The label gives no serving for children. Keep the box out of their sight and reach.

One. That's the recommended daily intake on the box, and the label says not to exceed it. One sachet in 200ml of water, once a day, every day if you like.

Stir one 5g sachet into 200ml of cold water with a clean, dry spoon. Drink it soon after mixing, or keep it in the fridge and finish it within six hours.

No. One sachet a day is the serving. Make it, enjoy it, then drink plain water for the rest of the day. It's a small glass with something in it that counts, not a replacement for water.

We're not going to tell you ours is the best. For daily use, the things to compare are sodium per sachet (lower is the point if it's every day), whether it's sugar-free, what it's sweetened with, whether it carries vitamins at levels that qualify for a claim, and the price per sachet.

For reference, ElectroMight Daily is 300mg sodium, sugar-free, sucralose, eight vitamins and minerals at or above 15% NRV, 20 sachets a box.

Daily if you like an electrolyte drink and want one every day: 300mg sodium, 200ml, orange and passionfruit, with inulin. Intense if your days sometimes take everything out of you, the long run, the hot shift, the hard session: 1,957mg sodium, 500ml, crisp apple, and not for every day.

Plenty of people keep both: Daily for most days, Intense for the others.

The box says to consult your doctor or a medical practitioner before taking it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, so please check with them first.

The label gives no serving for children and says to keep the box out of their sight and reach. Speak to your GP or pharmacist before giving any food supplement to a child.

In the EU, using ingredients from multiple countries, as the box says. Wellgard is a UK brand based in London, and the responsible person named on the box is Bayagan Group Ltd.

Store the box in a cool, dry place, out of sight and reach of children. Once mixed, drink it soon after or keep it in the fridge and finish within six hours. The best before end date is printed on the top of the box.
