Most People Don't Need an Electrolyte Drink. Then There's July.

The sports scientists are right. Eat properly, drink water, and on an ordinary day your electrolytes look after themselves. Every other electrolyte brand is arguing with that. We're not.

Because there's one case where the same experts say you do: long, hard and hot. The long run. The hot kitchen. The week away. The session you don't finish so much as survive. ElectroMight Intense is dosed for exactly that day: 1,957mg of sodium, 492mg of potassium, 205mg of magnesium, in one 500ml glass.

Everyone else is arguing with the experts. We agreed with them, and built the sachet for the one day they said you'd need it.

Who Intense Is For.

People whose days sometimes aren't ordinary. Runners and cyclists on the long ones. Footballers in pre-season. Anyone training hard enough to be wrung out afterwards. Chefs, builders, warehouse and delivery crews through a heatwave. Anyone hiking or working somewhere hot. The sauna regulars. Not every day. The days that take everything.

Magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance and normal muscle function.

If that's you some days, this is the sachet for those. For the rest, Daily.

1,957mg of Sodium. Here's the Straight Version.

1,957mg of sodium is about 4.9g of salt, roughly four-fifths of the adult daily maximum. On an ordinary day that's more salt than you want from a drink. On the day this sachet is built for, it's why it exists. Magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance.

The sodium comes from three compounds: sodium chloride, sodium citrate and sodium carbonate. The magnesium from two: malate and oxide. The potassium from three: citrate, phosphate and chloride. We list them because we'd rather you knew what's in the sachet than took our word for it.

If you're on a low-sodium diet, have been told to watch your blood pressure, or take medication that affects your potassium, this isn't your sachet. Daily is. We'd rather say it here than have you find out later.

1,957mg of Sodium That Doesn't Taste Like the Sea.

Sodium chloride is what makes salt taste salty. So we didn't use only that. The sodium in Intense is split across three compounds: sodium chloride, sodium citrate and sodium carbonate. That's how a serious dose ends up in a drink you'll finish rather than one you tolerate. Crisp apple, 500ml, cold.

Can you just put salt in water? You can. It tastes like salt in water, and there's no potassium or magnesium in it.

Electrolyte Balance. Muscle Function. Less Tiredness.

Here's what the minerals and vitamins in every sachet do.

  • Magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance
  • Magnesium, potassium and calcium contribute to normal muscle function
  • Magnesium, vitamin C, vitamin B12 and iron contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue
  • Vitamin B12, vitamin B6 and pantothenic acid contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism
  • Vitamin C increases iron absorption

Nothing on that list is a promise. It's what the minerals are for.

Iron. Not Something You Expect in an Electrolyte.

Every sachet carries 2.1mg of iron as ferrous gluconate, with 80mg of vitamin C beside it. Vitamin C increases iron absorption, and iron contributes to normal oxygen transport in the body and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Iron is unusual in an electrolyte sachet. We put it in because a hard day asks more of you than salt and water, and because pairing it with vitamin C is the right way to do it.

Everything Inside Every Sachet.

  • Sodium 1,957mg from sodium chloride, sodium citrate and sodium carbonate
  • Potassium 492mg (25% NRV) from potassium citrate, potassium phosphate and potassium chloride
  • Magnesium 205mg (55% NRV) from magnesium malate and magnesium oxide
  • Calcium 183mg (23% NRV) from calcium hydrogen phosphate and calcium ascorbate
  • Vitamin C 80mg (100% NRV) as calcium ascorbate
  • Vitamin B12 63µg (2,520% NRV) as methylcobalamin
  • Vitamin B6 0.7mg (50% NRV), pantothenic acid 3mg (50% NRV)
  • Iron 2.1mg (15% NRV) as ferrous gluconate
  • Zinc 2.5mg (25% NRV) as zinc citrate
  • Natural apple flavour, coloured with turmeric and spirulina, sweetened with sucralose
  • Sugar-free. No stevia. No artificial colours.
  • 20 sachets of 15g. Made in the EU.

What's on the sachet is what's in the sachet.

Fifteen Grams. None of It Sugar.

A sachet this size usually means sugar. This one has none. Sweetened with sucralose, not stevia, so there's no bitter finish. Coloured with turmeric and spirulina. What you taste is crisp apple, cold, in a full 500ml glass.

One Sachet. 500ml. Once a Day.

Stir one sachet into 500ml of cold water. Not less, not more; the label means it. Drink it soon after mixing, or keep it in the fridge and finish it within six hours. Use a clean, dry spoon.

One a day is the most you should take. Whether you take one every day depends on what your days look like, and for most people the answer is no.

Two Sachets. Two Kinds of Day.

ElectroMight Daily is a 5g sachet in 200ml: 300mg sodium, 200mg potassium, 62.5mg magnesium, with inulin. Orange and passionfruit. The one you can have every day.

ElectroMight Intense is a 15g sachet in 500ml: 1,957mg sodium, 492mg potassium, 205mg magnesium, no inulin. Crisp apple. For when you actually need one.

Neither is the better one. They're for different days.

For When You Actually Need One.

If most of your days are ordinary, you probably want Daily. If some of them aren't, this is the sachet for those, and it doesn't hold back.

Wellgard ElectroMight Intense. 1,957mg sodium. For when you actually need one.

One sachet. 500ml. Everything.

Wellgard Electromight Intense is a high-strength, sugar-free electrolyte powder in single-serve crisp apple sachets, made for the days that ask more of your hydration, from long training sessions to hot weather and heavy sweating. It goes beyond electrolytes alone: each sachet also brings iron, zinc and B vitamins, so one morning drink covers ground that might otherwise take several separate supplements.

Each 15g sachet provides a high level of the four key electrolytes: 1957mg sodium, 492mg potassium, 205mg magnesium and 183.3mg calcium. The sodium is delivered as a blend of sodium citrate, sodium chloride and sodium carbonate, which is what lets a dose this high taste like a clean, crisp apple drink rather than a harsh salty one. Magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

The stand-out addition for an electrolyte drink is iron. Each sachet contains 2.1mg of iron as ferrous gluconate together with 80mg of vitamin C. Iron contributes to normal oxygen transport in the body and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and since vitamin C increases iron absorption, the two make a natural pairing. Vitamin C also contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Each serving adds 2.5mg of zinc as zinc citrate, which contributes to normal function of the immune system and to normal cognitive function, plus 63 micrograms of vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin, an active form of B12, along with vitamin B6 and pantothenic acid. Vitamin B12 contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism.

There is no added sugar and no artificial colours. The crisp apple flavour is sweetened with sucralose, and the colour comes from turmeric and spirulina. Single-serve sachets also do away with measuring powder from a tub, so a consistent dose is easy to take on the move.

Electromight Intense is made in the European Union. Stir one 15g sachet into 500ml of cold water once a day. Each pack contains 20 sachets, 300g in total, for 20 servings.

Acid: Citric Acid; Sodium Citrate, Sodium Chloride, Natural Apple Flavouring, Potassium Citrate, Calcium Hydrogen Phosphate, Magnesium Malate, Sodium Carbonate, Turmeric, Spirulina, Potassium Hydrogen Phosphate, Potassium Chloride, Calcium Ascorbate, Magnesium Oxide, Sweetener: Sucralose (E955); Iron Gluconate, Zinc Citrate, Calcium Pantothenate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Methylcobalamin.

Take 1 sachet (15 g) daily, stirring it into 500ml of cold water. Using too much or too little water may affect taste and texture. Always use a clean, dry spoon for mixing. Consume shortly after preparation, or refrigerate and use within 6 hours.

Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet and healthy lifestyle. If pregnant, breast feeding or on medication, consult your doctor or a medical practitioner before taking this product. Do not exceed the recommended intake. Store in a cool dry place, out of sight and reach of children. Always use a clean mixing spoon, and always consume within 6 hours of preparation if stored in a refrigerator.

Q&A

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

It depends on the run. A 5k on a cool morning, no: water and your next meal cover it, and the sports scientists who say so are right. A long one in heat, a hard session that leaves you wrung out, a week of training somewhere hot: that's the case where the same experts say you do.

ElectroMight Intense is built for the second kind of run. For everything else, Daily or a glass of water.

Almost certainly not. Drink some water, eat something, and you're done. We'd be talking you into a sachet you don't need, and that's not how we sell things.

Where Intense earns its place is the long, hot, hard day, not the parkrun. If you like an electrolyte drink on ordinary days anyway, that's what Daily is for.

For an ordinary day, yes. 1,957mg of sodium is about 4.9g of salt, roughly four-fifths of the adult daily maximum, and you don't want that from a drink on a day you've spent at a desk. That's why this isn't the everyday sachet and we say so on the front of the page.

For the day it's built for, long, hard and hot, the amount is the point. One sachet is the most you should take in a day. If you're on a low-sodium diet or have been told to watch your blood pressure, this isn't your sachet at all.

It depends on who's drinking it and when. Taken every day on top of a normal diet, a high-sodium sachet adds a lot of salt you don't need. Taken on a long, hot, hard day by someone who's been on their feet for hours, it's the reason the category exists.

ElectroMight Intense is made for the second situation. If you have high blood pressure, a kidney condition, or you've been told to limit salt, speak to your GP before taking any electrolyte product, and choose Daily over Intense.

We're not going to rank other people's products. We can tell you ours: ElectroMight Intense carries 1,957mg of sodium per sachet, with 492mg of potassium, 205mg of magnesium and 183mg of calcium alongside it. Most electrolyte sachets sold in the UK carry a few hundred milligrams of sodium.

If you're looking for the strong end of the category, check the sodium line on the label before anything else. Ours is printed on the front of the box.

Because of how it tastes. Sodium chloride, table salt, is the compound that tastes salty. Sodium citrate and sodium carbonate deliver sodium with far less of that. Splitting 1,957mg across all three is how a serious dose ends up in a crisp apple drink you'll finish, rather than a glass of seawater you tolerate.

We make no claim about what each compound does once it's in you. This is about the glass.

In spirit, yes. Salt tablets are mostly sodium chloride, sometimes with a little potassium, swallowed dry with water. Intense delivers its sodium in a 500ml drink, alongside potassium, magnesium and calcium and a set of vitamins that a tablet doesn't carry.

To compare the sodium, check your tablet's label against 1,957mg per sachet. Wellgard doesn't make salt tablets, so we've no reason to tell you one format beats the other.

You can, and it will give you sodium. It will also taste like salt in water, and it gives you no potassium, magnesium, calcium or vitamins.

ElectroMight Intense is 1,957mg of sodium across three compounds so it drinks clean, with 492mg of potassium, 205mg of magnesium, 183mg of calcium, and vitamin C, B12, B6, pantothenic acid, iron and zinc. Whether that's worth paying for over a spoon of salt is your call; we'd rather you made it knowing the difference.

The label allows one sachet a day. Whether you should have one every day is a different question, and for most people the answer is no: 4.9g of salt daily on top of a normal diet is more than most people should be having.

If your days are all long, hot and hard, one a day is within the label. If they aren't, keep Intense for the days that are and have Daily the rest of the time. If you have high blood pressure or take medication, speak to your GP first.

No. This isn't the sachet for you. At 1,957mg of sodium it's the opposite of a low-sodium product, and we'd rather tell you that here than have you find out from your GP.

Daily carries 300mg of sodium, which is a different conversation, but check with your GP or pharmacist before taking any electrolyte product if you're managing blood pressure or on medication that affects your sodium or potassium.

Anyone on a low-sodium diet, anyone with high blood pressure or a kidney condition, and anyone taking medication that affects potassium or sodium levels should not take ElectroMight Intense without speaking to their GP first, and for most of them the honest answer will be to choose Daily or nothing.

The box also says to consult your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or on medication. People with iron overload should not take products containing iron. The label gives no serving for children.

The full ingredient list is: Acid: Citric Acid; Sodium Citrate, Sodium Chloride, Natural Apple Flavouring, Potassium Citrate, Calcium Hydrogen Phosphate, Magnesium Malate, Sodium Carbonate, Turmeric, Spirulina, Potassium Hydrogen Phosphate, Potassium Chloride, Calcium Ascorbate, Magnesium Oxide, Sweetener: Sucralose (E955); Iron Gluconate, Zinc Citrate, Calcium Pantothenate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Methylcobalamin.

Per 15g sachet: sodium 1,957mg, potassium 492mg (25% NRV), magnesium 205mg (55% NRV), calcium 183mg (23% NRV). Alongside those: vitamin C 80mg (100%), vitamin B12 63µg (2,520%), vitamin B6 0.7mg (50%), pantothenic acid 3mg (50%), iron 2.1mg (15%) and zinc 2.5mg (25%).

The three headline figures are printed on the front of the box; the full table is on the back.

Each is present at or above 15% of the daily reference intake, so we can tell you what it does, in the authorised wording.

Magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance. Magnesium, potassium and calcium contribute to normal muscle function. Magnesium and potassium contribute to normal functioning of the nervous system. Magnesium, vitamin C, vitamin B12 and iron contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Vitamin B12, vitamin B6 and pantothenic acid contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism. Vitamin C increases iron absorption. Zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system.

Sodium carries no authorised claim, so we state the amount and leave it there.

Because a hard day asks more of you than salt and water, and because iron pairs well with the vitamin C that's already in the sachet. Each sachet carries 2.1mg of iron as ferrous gluconate with 80mg of vitamin C. Vitamin C increases iron absorption, and iron contributes to normal oxygen transport in the body and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Iron is unusual in an electrolyte sachet. If you take another supplement containing iron, check the total.

No sugar. It's sweetened with sucralose, which the box declares as "with sweetener", and there's no stevia, so none of the bitter finish stevia leaves. The flavour is natural apple; the colour comes from turmeric and spirulina.

Nothing on the ingredient list comes from an animal: mineral salts, natural apple flavouring, turmeric, spirulina, sucralose, and methylcobalamin for the B12. We don't carry a vegan certification on the box, so we don't put the word on it. The full list is above if you want to check it yourself.

Stir one 15g sachet into 500ml of cold water with a clean, dry spoon. Drink it soon after mixing, or keep it in the fridge and finish it within six hours.

500ml matters. It's a 15g sachet carrying nearly two grams of sodium, and the box says plainly that too much or too little water affects the taste and texture. Less water and it's too strong; more and it's thin. The label means it.

One. That's the recommended daily intake on the box, and at 1,957mg of sodium per sachet the label means it. Do not exceed it.

The salt, if you have it on a day you don't need it. 4.9g on top of a normal diet is more than most people should be taking, which is why we tell you on the front of the page that Intense isn't for every day. Badly formulated, high-sodium drinks also taste like the sea, which is why Intense splits its sodium across three compounds.

If you have high blood pressure, a kidney condition or you've been told to limit salt, this product isn't for you. Speak to your GP before taking any electrolyte product.

Daily if you like an electrolyte drink and want one every day: 300mg sodium, 200ml, orange and passionfruit, with inulin. Intense if your days sometimes take everything out of you, the long run, the hot shift, the hard session: 1,957mg sodium, 500ml, crisp apple, and not for every day.

Plenty of people keep both: Daily for most days, Intense for the others.

Sauna regulars.

It's for the day, not the person. The same runner wants Daily on a Tuesday and Intense on a Sunday in July.

The box says to consult your doctor or a medical practitioner before taking it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Given the sodium level, please do.

No. The label gives no serving for children, says to keep the box out of their sight and reach, and at 1,957mg of sodium per sachet this is an adult product. Speak to your GP or pharmacist before giving any food supplement to a child.

In the EU, using non-UK ingredients, as the box says. Wellgard is a UK brand based in London, and the responsible person named on the box is Bayagan Group Ltd.

Store the box in a cool, dry place, out of sight and reach of children. Once mixed, drink it soon after or keep it in the fridge and finish within six hours. The best before end date is printed on the top of the box.

Twenty sachets. How long that lasts depends on how many hard days you have. For most people that's weeks, not days, which is rather the point of a sachet that isn't for every day.

Yes. Subscribe & Save takes 15% off every order, delivers automatically on your chosen schedule, and you can pause, skip or cancel at any time. Set the frequency to match your hard days, not the calendar.

Wellgard offers a full refund within 30 days, even if the box has been opened and some of the sachets used.
