Ruby Super Reds Powder

✦ Beetroot to Astaxanthin. 49 Ingredients. The Red Glass, Every Morning.

Orange Juice Had a Good Run.
So Did the Drawer of Bottles.

You know the glass you drink standing up while the kettle boils, and the drawer where the vitamins go to be forgotten. The red glass replaces both. Two heaped teaspoons in cold water and you're holding forty-nine ingredients: two grams of beetroot, twenty-one polyphenol fruits from blueberry to baobab, two mushrooms, three live cultures, astaxanthin from an alga, and sixteen vitamins and minerals with vitamin D at more than double the winter figure. Vitamin B12 contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.⁴ Deep red, raspberry, gone in a minute, and by ten past nine you're the kind of person whose vitamins are done.

Two teaspoons, cold water. Add Ruby Powder.

The Red Glass.

Kettle on. Two teaspoons, cold water, stir. The red glass is red before you've finished stirring, it smells of raspberries, and it's gone before the toast is. That's the whole habit, and it's the point. The best vitamins are the ones you take, and nobody skips a drink they like. No hard feelings towards the tablets in the drawer; they were never going to get finished.

Red, cold, raspberry. A minute. Everything's in there.

Vitamin D at 275%. Iron Because Nobody Else Bothers.

One number to hold onto: the red glass carries vitamin D at 275% of your daily reference intake, more than double the winter figure the NHS talks about. Then the awkward one. Iron fights the flavour, which is why most drinkable vitamins quietly leave it out; we kept it in and worked round it, with the vitamin C beside it. The other fourteen are the full set, most at 100%: vitamin C, all eight B vitamins with B12 as methylcobalamin, zinc, copper, selenium, chromium and iodine. What they do for you, in the pouch's words: Wellgard Ruby Powder supports your overall health by maintaining normal bones¹, skin², hair³, vision³, and immune function⁴, while supporting cognitive³ and psychological function⁵, energy metabolism⁶, and reducing tiredness and fatigue⁴. That's a multivitamin's whole job, done in a glass you look forward to.

One Glass. Five Bottles Fewer.

Look in the cupboard. The multivitamin, the vitamin D, the vitamin C, the B12, the iron: the red glass covers all five, so they can go. It won't replace a live cultures capsule or a fibre supplement, and it doesn't pretend to. Five bottles fewer is still five bottles fewer.

Eight of the Sixteen Are for Hair, Skin and Nails.

Most of us have a hair, skin and nails bottle somewhere. Half-finished. Eight of the nutrients in the red glass are the ones it was sold on, all at 100%. Biotin contributes to the maintenance of normal skin and normal hair.⁷ Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal skin, normal hair and normal nails.⁸ Selenium contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and normal nails.⁹ Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin.¹⁰ Riboflavin, niacin and iodine each contribute to the maintenance of normal skin.¹¹ Copper contributes to normal hair pigmentation and normal skin pigmentation.¹² In the glass, not a fourth capsule. If skin is the whole reason you're here, Skin Fuel is the capsule built for it.

Why It's Red.

Two grams of beetroot in every serving, the largest single thing in the pouch, and the reason the glass is the colour it is: beetroot's pigments are betalains. Behind it, twenty-one fruits chosen for their polyphenols, the dark ones especially. Blueberry, blackcurrant, aronia and elderberry for their anthocyanins. Pomegranate seed and amla for theirs. Camu camu, one of the most vitamin C dense fruits there is. Baobab pulp, which is largely fibre. Then maca, two mushrooms, three live cultures at 1.1 billion each and 4mg of astaxanthin, a carotenoid from the alga Haematococcus pluvialis. This is the part a reds powder is named for, and it's most of the pouch. The vitamins bring the benefits above. These bring the colour, the polyphenols, the fibre and the reason you finish the glass.

Two teaspoons, cold water. Add Ruby Powder.

About the Taste.

It's sweetened with stevia. Stevia divides people. Most customers tell us it tastes of berries and isn't too sweet; one wrote that it "tastes like juice, which makes it easy to take regularly", which is the whole idea. A minority find it sickly, or catch an earthy note under the fruit; one said "don't listen to those who say it tastes like strawberries". Both are right about their own mouths. If stevia is the thing you can't stand, this isn't for you, and the refund is there.

Who It's For.

The one who gave up the morning juice and misses the glass. The one with a drawer of half-finished vitamin bottles. You know the drawer. The one who tried a greens powder and couldn't face the colour or the taste, or can't have green tea. The one who noticed most drinkable all-in-ones leave out iron and wanted one that didn't. The one who saw it on TikTok as Super Reds. And the one with the red glass on the desk at ten past nine, drawer empty, vitamins done, nothing left on the list but the day.

What This Won't Do.

It won't replace fruit and vegetables; it's a supplement, not a shortcut through dinner. It isn't a live cultures product at full strength (3.3 billion is a start) or a fibre supplement (3.9g is about a third of what Clear Fibre gives you). It isn't juice, and it doesn't pretend to be; it's the glass juice used to occupy. And it isn't for children: it contains iron, so the pouch lives out of their reach.

How You'll Know.

Taste first. Everything else later. At two weeks you'll have an opinion about the taste and none about anything else, and the taste opinion is the one that matters, because a red glass you don't drink is a glass that does nothing. At thirty days the pouch runs out, which is also when the pouch says to finish it, and whether you want the next one is the honest test. If it's no, the refund covers the first thirty days, opened or not. If it's yes, the next pouch arrives before the last two teaspoons.

How to Enjoy It.

Two heaped teaspoons, a glass of cold water, stir. Drink it while it's red; it settles if you leave it, so don't decant it. Most people make it the first glass of the day. Yoghurt and smoothies work too, as the pouch says. Use a clean, dry spoon, reseal the pouch, and finish it within thirty days of opening. Then the plain part: do not exceed the recommended intake; it contains iron, so keep it out of the sight and reach of children; and if you're pregnant, breastfeeding or on medication, consult your doctor before taking it.

Q&A

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Depends what's in them. Some are fruit powder and a promise. Ruby Powder is built the other way round: sixteen vitamins and minerals at full strength do the work you'd expect from a good multivitamin. Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and normal muscle function. Vitamin B12 contributes to the normal function of the immune system and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal hair, vision and normal cognitive function. Biotin contributes to the maintenance of normal skin. Around them, two grams of beetroot, twenty-one polyphenol fruits, live cultures, mushrooms and astaxanthin make it a reds drink rather than a vitamin tablet dissolved in water. If a powder can't tell you what's in it and how much, be sceptical. This one can, down to the milligram.

Yes, that's the idea: one glass a day, every day. Just don't take it alongside another multivitamin, because the vitamin D, iron and zinc would double up.

Children, because it contains iron. Anyone pregnant, breastfeeding, on medication or under medical supervision should speak to their GP first; the vitamin D is at 275% of the reference intake and there's 5mg of iron per serving.

A reds powder is a drink powder built on red fruits and roots, beetroot, berries, cherry, pomegranate, rather than the grasses and algae of a greens powder. Ruby Powder is one; the pouch calls it beyond ordinary reds because most reds powders carry the fruit and little else, and this one carries sixteen vitamins and minerals, most at 100%, plus two grams of beetroot, three live cultures and astaxanthin. Sweetened with steviol glycosides from the stevia plant, not sucralose or aspartame.

The colour and the flavour, mostly. Greens powders are built on grasses, algae and leafy vegetables; a reds powder like Ruby is built on berries, beetroot and fruit, so it tastes of fruit rather than grass. Wellgard makes both. Pick by which one you'll drink.

Some people say yes. It's sweetened with steviol glycosides from the stevia plant, an approved sweetener in the UK, and most customers describe the taste as berries and not too sweet; a minority find it sickly or notice stevia's aftertaste. If you know you dislike stevia, this isn't for you. If you're on the fence, try it colder first; a splash of apple juice, a smoothie or yoghurt soften it more than water does.

Any time of day that becomes a habit; most people take it with breakfast. Coffee alongside is fine. If part of your reason is the iron, NHS advice on iron is to leave a gap between it and tea or coffee, so have the glass first and the coffee later.

A food supplement isn't for treating a condition, and anyone with one should ask their GP before starting anything new. Ruby Powder carries vitamin D at 275% of the reference intake and 5mg of iron per serving, which is what a GP would want to see.

The two fat-soluble vitamins people ask about are A and D. Ruby Powder contains no vitamin A. Its vitamin D is 12.5µg a day, 275% of the reference intake and well under the UK upper level of 100µg, so the only rule is not to stack it with another vitamin D product without checking the totals.

Each glass carries 3.9g of fibre and three live cultures at 1.1 billion each, which is a modest amount of both. If fibre is new to your mornings, have the first few glasses with breakfast rather than on an empty stomach and give it a week. If anything disagrees with you, stop, and the refund covers the pouch.

Cold water first. Unflavoured yoghurt and smoothies work just as well, and customers add it to apple juice, orange juice, porridge and protein shakes. Anything cold and stirred works; hot drinks aren't the intention.

Because it's fruit powder and fibre, not a dissolvable tablet. Stir or shake and drink it; if you leave it ten minutes it will sink and you'll need to stir again.

5mg per serving, 36% of the reference intake, with the vitamin C in the same glass; vitamin C increases iron absorption, and iron contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and to normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin. That's a modest amount for an adult and the reason the pouch stays out of children's reach; a child eating powder from a pouch is the risk, not the serving.

In substance, yes: sixteen vitamins and minerals per 10g serving, most at 100% of the reference intake. Iron: yes, 5mg (36%). Vitamin D: yes, 12.5µg (275%). Vitamin B12: yes, 2.5µg as methylcobalamin. Zinc, copper, selenium, chromium and iodine: yes. Flavour: raspberry and berries. Take it instead of a multivitamin tablet, not as well as one.

The vitamins and minerals are the same nutrients whichever form they arrive in; the difference is whether you take them. Ruby Powder is for people who finish a glass and forget a tablet. Nothing about the powder makes the nutrients do more, and the pouch doesn't say it does.

No. The maca root extract and the mushrooms are not stimulants and there's no tea, coffee or guarana in it.

Two grams in every glass, the largest single ingredient in the pouch, alongside maca in the root blend. Its pigments, betalains, are why the drink is that colour, and it's one of the two things the reds category is built on, berries being the other.

They're listed by name on the pouch: Bifidobacterium animalis lactis, Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus rhamnosus at 1.1 billion CFU each, with alpha-amylase, protease, lipase, cellulase and lactase in the enzyme blend. They're part of what makes this a reds drink rather than a vitamin drink with colouring.

Yes, vegan. No declared allergens. The full list is under Read the Box.

In the European Union, for Wellgard, a British brand based in London.

About 0.9g per 10g serving, on the manufacturer's laboratory analysis (September 2024), alongside 29 kcal, 3.9g of fibre, 0.4g of protein and 0.1g of fat. Ruby Powder is sweetened with steviol glycosides from the stevia plant, and the sugars come mostly from the fruit powders and the small amount of dextrose the live cultures are grown on. Food supplements don't carry a nutrition declaration on pack, which is why the figure is here rather than on the pouch.

Yes, and many customers stir both into the same glass or smoothie. Collagen adds protein, not vitamins, so nothing doubles up.

No. It contains iron and is dosed for adults. Keep the pouch out of their reach.

Speak to your GP first. Ruby Powder carries vitamin D at 275% of the reference intake and 5mg of iron, and a GP or midwife should look at those alongside anything else you take.

Thirty servings at 10 grams a day is a month, which is also how long the pouch says to use it within once opened. The scoop isn't in the pouch; two heaped teaspoons with a clean, dry spoon is the measure.

Yes. Subscribe & Save takes 15% off every order and sends the next pouch before the last one runs out; pause, skip or cancel whenever you like.

Wellgard refunds the pouch within thirty days, opened or not, under its published refund terms.

Because of the colour. Twenty-one red and purple fruits and beetroot make a drink that's deep ruby red, and one customer's first review was about the colour before the taste.

Yes. The same pouch has been sold as Ruby Powder and as Ruby Super Reds; the recipe, the 10g serving and the sixteen nutrients are the same.

No. It's a supplement with sixteen vitamins and minerals and a fruit blend; it isn't a portion of anything and it isn't a meal.
